Diocesan Shield 02

Retreats

Retreats

The Diocese offers two Retreats each year, usually held in the week before Lent. There is a wide variety of retreats and similar activities held throughout the year which are directly organised by churches and some Area Councils.

The Retreats Secretary is responsible to the Bishop for organising the Diocesan Retreats, and also acts as secretary for Bursary Applications.  The Bursary Fund is quite small and is aimed particularly at encouraging first time lay retreatants. The normal award is one-third of the cost of the retreat, with the retreatant and their vestry each contributing one third. Applications, with name of congregation, details of costs and the proposed retreat should be made to the Retreat Secretary at the Diocesan Centre (address on Organisation page) or by email.
