It is the aim of the new Information and Communication Committee to enhance communication in the Diocese through the publication of the Diocesan newsletter The EDGE and the Diocesan web site. It seeks to improve and maintain the IT resources that the Diocesan Centre holds and to be a source of information and advice to the churches in the Diocese.

The remit of the Information and Communications Committee is to:

  • Ensure good maintenance of communications systems so that they are efficient and effective;
  • Develop and implement a strategy for improving information flows and communications.

The key objectives are to:

  • Work with the Diocesan Centre staff to ensure that the Diocesan Website is updated frequently and regularly
  • Monitor the use of the Website and respond to any need for additional information to be available.
  • Keep congregations fully informed of the work of the Diocese
  • Keep Area Councils, particularly Area Council Convenors, up-to-date with developments and when appropriate seek their views;
  • Ensure the outcome of the work of the Diocesan Committees is widely disseminated by their Conveners through the Diocesan website and through The Edge
  • Work with and advise the Diocesan Secretary/Administrator to ensure that the IT equipment and systems within the Diocesan Centre are up-to-date and allow the best possible communication between the Centre and Congregations;
