    To find us
We're on the West side of Leith Links (a public park), at the southern end of John's Place. Travelling from town, at the bottom of LEITH WALK (a long straight road that leads from one end of Princes Street in the centre of Edinburgh), turn right along Duke Street, then second left into Duncan Place. Where Duncan Place meets Johns Place on the left, St James is on the left hand side. Our building (originally the halls attached to the now defunct Victorian church building), is set back from the road, at the end of a short pathway

A little about us...
The people who gather at St James on a Sunday morning are a vibrant mixture of young and old, with a variety of backgrounds. Some are new to Leith and others have been here all their lives. Although St James has existed in Leith for over 300 years, we are constantly looking for ways to make our life together as meaningful and relevant as possible for today. This is reflected in our worship which follows closely the liturgy of the Scottish Episcopal Church and the worldwide Anglican Communion, and yet tries to be informal, inclusive and welcoming. We take an active role in our community and are members of Leith Council of Churches.

Children are a big part of the life of St James and we believe in the principle that young people are not so much the church of tomorrow, but the church of today. Once every few weeks we have an All-Age Service (when everyone joins together for worship), but most weeks the young people follow their own programmes, before rejoining the adults for communion.

Other than Sunday morning worship, there are other opportunities for learning and praying together - on a Sunday evening, or in smaller home-groups. You’ll find further details at our website.
