To find us: The church is located on Teindhillgreen which is the A6112 that leads to Preston. This is approached from the the A6105 (Greenlaw to Berwick road that runs through the town avoiding the centre) by turning up North Castle Street and swinging round to the right as you go up the hill.
A little about us... In our rural setting our membership reflects the diversity of traditions and spirituality that is a hallmark of the worldwide Anglican Communion of which we are part. We are held together by recognising in one and other the riches that each tradition brings to our church family and the fact that, together, we are all learning what it means to follow Jesus Christ in today’s world. We aim to be: A family of caring people growing in the knowledge and Love of God through Jesus Christ. We aim to: Express the love of God with the help of the Holy Spirit through our relationships with one another and our service in the community. How we aim to do this: * Be a church in which all feel welcome * Structure our church for mission and ministry * Make our worship accessible to all and ensure that all have access to worship * Nurture the growth in spirit of all within our circle of influence so that we can all live more effectively as followers of Jesus Christ * Express our unity with the wider church by making sure that we have meaningful relationships with tiher churches in Berwickshire and with our mission links further afield.
The Episcopal church was re-established in Duns in 1852 with the encouragement of Col William Hay of Duns Castle who helped design and build the present building. It seats about 120 people and was consecrated in 1854. The church is kept open during daylight hours. Please feel free to drop in and walk about or sit or kneel in thought and prayer. You would be more than welcome at one of our services. Although we our services are recognisably Episcopalian in form their style varies from Sunday to Sunday. So, no matter what style of worship you enjoy we hope you’ll find something that meets your needs.
What about children? Children are most welcome in our services, so do not feel anxious if they make a bit of noise. We aim to provide a special activity for them during the sermon and intercessions. In addition for the young: On the first Sunday in the month during school terms we hold a Sunday Breakfast Club at 9.30am, Whilst this is aimed at making Church a good experience for children you might find that adults enjoy it as well! After this short 45 minute event those who want to may stay on for the Communion Service.
